About
Us
JCAEOP is one of seven associations which
represent all classified employees. We represent all Office Professionals
who include: Secretaries, Office Technicians, Paraeducators for Children
with Disabilities, Library Media Technicians, Educational Tutors and ESL
Tutors. The reason we represent all these individuals is because they
are considered "full-time, permanent" employees. They work over
22.5 hours a week, their job continues from year to year, and they receive
benefits.
CSEA
(Classified School Employees Association) is the larger umbrella organization
and is directed by an Executive Board comprised of members of each association's
individual leadership. Membership in JCAEOP and CSEA are inclusive.
CSEA
is the negotiating association for all classified employees. JCAEOP has
two representatives on the negotiating team. Although we bring issues
to the table that specifically affect our members, the contract is negotiated
with all classified employees' best interests in mind.
What
is your investment?
CSEA dues are 1 percent of your monthly salary. In addition, $1 is deducted
each month for JCAEOP membership. JCAEOP is a non-profit organization.
The collected monies from fund raisers pay for minimal operational expenses.
The remainder is used to offer professional growth opportunities, grants
to members wishing to attend a workshop/class, and scholarships to students
who wish to pursue a career in an office professional area, library media
technician area, or handicapped children's paraprofessional field.
